The Heartland Association of the American Council of the Blind is participating in the Indianapolis Vision Walk to fund critical research to treat blindness — and you can help! |
We are a support network of active blind and sighted people of all ages, building friendships, sharing life experiences to encourage and teach, and working together to make a difference. From now until September 27, we are asking for people to support our team in the Foundation Fighting Blindness VisionWalk.
Since its inception in the spring of 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $20 million to fund sight-saving research. As promising treatments move into critical human studies, the need for research funding is greater than ever.
Please join Heartland ACB as we take important steps toward a cure by participating in a 5K VisionWalk this fall in Indianapolis. You can join our team as a virtual teammate or come join us for the event, either way encouraging friends and family to support your effort by contributing to the cause. Registration is online at http://tinyurl.com/hscvwalk. This is sure to be another uplifting and fun day in downtown Indianapolis, walking along the canal and cheering along with many other walkers from Indianapolis and the surrounding areas.
Also, for the third year in a row, the Indianapolis VisionWalk will be partnering with the Vision Expo, so participants in the walk can go right to the Vision Expo and see hundreds of great products and services for the blind and visually impaired.
