Heartland ACB is a local chapter of the American Council of the Blind.
Our chapter exists to provide information regarding independent living, self and system’s advocacy, services and any and all issues pertaining to vision impairment for blind or visually impaired individuals and/or their families.
We also advocate for the needs of blind or visually impaired persons within our community, which includes helping to educate members of our community about the needs and abilities of blind and visually impaired persons.
We also plan to have a lot of fun! In the past we have enjoyed dining on the patio at the Upland Brewery, bowling, visiting the Waldron Art Center and Indianapolis Museum of Art, attending the Indiana Vision Expo and VisionWalk, ACB Statewide Conference, and having an ice cream social and going to house parties, among other events. We have more planned, so come join the fun!
We have regular meetings every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November) on the third Monday of the month at the Monroe County Public Library at 6 PM. We have outings throughout the year.
